Mikel Arteta, the Arsenal manager, spoke about his team’s match against West Ham United in the 36th round of the English Premier League.
He said: “I think we started the match excellently, creating three clear chances but failing to score. Then Ben White got injured, forcing us to make adjustments. Things weren’t going smoothly, and we had to change Calafiori at halftime—another change. So it wasn’t ideal.”
He added: “In the end, that’s the beauty of the Premier League. Amid all that chaos, with the goalkeeper in the box, they managed to score. The referee and VAR showed great courage by stopping play, analyzing it, and giving the referee the chance to make the decision.”
He continued: “I think everyone will agree it was a clear foul because David was almost holding the ball in his hands, and they didn’t allow him to. They took advantage and scored the goal.”
