Al Nassr is at a critical moment in its history. Cristiano Ronaldo’s side faces a decisive clash against Al Hilal. A victory would give them the league title for the first time in seven years.
Amid the tension surrounding the match, Jorge Jesus has cast doubt on his future with the club for next season. The Portuguese manager made his comments during the pre-match press conference. For some time now, Jesus has signed only one-year contracts with any team he works for, meaning his continuity is never guaranteed for the following campaign. Speaking to Saudi media, he made it clear there is a possibility he will not extend his deal with Al Nassr once the season ends.
“It is possible that I will not renew my contract with Al Nassr, and it is also possible that the club does not want me for next season,” Jesus said in the press conference.
Based on what he said and how he said it, he did not seem overly concerned. “Fortunately, I have offers from many clubs,” he added. And it’s no wonder. The Amadora native was named Saudi League Coach of the Month in April. He is having a fantastic season with the club, aiming to win the league title against Al Hilal and the AFC Champions League 2 trophy next Saturday against Gamba Osaka.

Throughout this run, Jesus has managed to elevate many of his players. Cristiano is the star, but others like Joao Felix and Angelo are shining largely thanks to the trust placed in them. Whether the club will offer him a renewal remains to be seen, but based on the manager’s own words, it seems he may be more out than in for next season.
