In an intense Game 5 of the second round of the NHL playoffs at T-Mobile Arena in Paradise, Nevada, the Vegas Golden Knights edged out the Anaheim Ducks 3-2 in overtime. Russian forward Pavel Dorofeev delivered a clutch performance, scoring twice—including the game-tying goal on the power play in the first period and the overtime winner.
Dorofeev struck first at 16:13 of the opening period with a power-play tally, assisted by Tomas Hertl and Jack Eichel, to make it 1-1 after Anaheim had opened the scoring. After Hertl gave Vegas a 2-1 lead in the third period, the Ducks’ Michael Czerwonka tied it late in regulation. In overtime, Dorofeev buried the winner at 64:10 off a feed from Eichel, securing the victory for the home side.
With this performance, Dorofeev has now scored in two consecutive Stanley Cup playoff games and has points in three straight contests. He has collected 8 points (6 goals, 2 assists) in 11 playoff games this postseason.
This was Dorofeev’s sixth goal of the 2026 playoffs, continuing a hot streak for the young forward. The Golden Knights now hold a 3-2 series lead as the teams head to Anaheim for Game 6.
