The Saitama Seibu Lions have officially announced a two‑leg collaboration event with the Uni‑President Lions of Taiwan’s Chinese Professional Baseball League. The event will take place at the Tainan Asia‑Pacific Baseball Stadium (June 19‑21, 2026) and at Belluna Dome in Japan (June 26‑28, 2026).

During the event, the Uni‑President Lions’ official dance performance team “Uni‑girls,” along with their mascots “LION” and “YINGYING,” will visit Japan, while the Seibu Lions’ mascot “Leo” and cheer team “bluelegends” will travel to Taiwan. The two sides will perform collaborative dances and engage in cultural exchanges.
In Taiwan, the games will be played at the new home stadium of the Uni‑President Lions, which became their base from the 2026 season. Former Seibu Lions stars Kaku Tai‑yuan, Kimiyasu Kudo, Hisanobu Watanabe, and Tetsuya Shiozaki will appear as guests, participating in talk shows and ceremonial first pitches.
The relationship between the two W‑Lions clubs dates back many years. They have held collaborative events at both stadiums, faced each other in the 2008 Asia Series final, and in 2016, current manager Fumiya Nishiguchi (then head of the club’s development department) served as a temporary coach for the Uni‑President Lions. During spring training, they have also held friendly games in Kochi Prefecture.
