Former Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas has shared a concerned post about the club’s recent lack of silverware, referencing the recent loss in El Clásico.
“When Real Madrid goes two seasons without winning titles, it’s time to worry. El Clásico was already tough before the matches even started. Let’s look ahead now and forget about the current season,” Casillas wrote on his X social media account.
Real Madrid currently sit second in La Liga standings. The team has failed to secure any trophies this season, after losing 2-0 to Barcelona in the 35th matchday of the league, effectively ending their title hopes. Earlier, they lost to the Catalans in the Spanish Super Cup final, were eliminated in the Champions League quarter-finals, and fell in the Copa del Rey round of 16. Last season, Madrid won the Intercontinental Cup and the UEFA Super Cup but missed out on other titles.
