No Progress in Organizing Russia-US Hockey Match, Kremlin Says

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated that there has been no progress in organizing a hockey match between the national teams of Russia and the United States.

In March 2025, U.S. President Donald Trump supported Russian President Vladimir Putin’s proposal to host hockey games in both countries featuring players from the NHL and KHL.

“Trump spoke about it, but there is no progress in this regard. And that is probably very important and would be great. It would serve as a good backdrop for any movement in bilateral relations,” Peskov said.

Russian ice hockey teams have been suspended from international competitions since 2022.
